For the homework I got asked to choose a range of microphones which I would include in my studio if I had one (and unlimited money.)
It's a condenser microphone so it's very sensitive, perfect for vocals and softer instruments. It can be mounted in a mic cage and has a variety of features including select-able direction patterns and a 10db attenuation switch to help it handle louder sounds.
The KM 104 Plus
I'd use this microphone for kick drums and if i wanted to do any live gigs as it is a robust dynamic microphone. It's hard wearing but not very sensitive.
The KM 184
I'd use these for overheads due to their sensitivity and simplicity to direct. They're also small so can be easily moved around the studio space and placed over things without the worry of mic stands falling over and such.
